Benefits to North East Chamber of Commerce Members Advertising Throughout the year you have an opportunity to advertise your business in literature and promotional materials produced by the Chamber. The yearly Calendar of Events is an example of the opportunities available. Events Planning Committee The Events Planning Committee is a group of Chamber members committed to developing and producing events held in the Town of North East. The "Yesterdays" Harvest Street Festival and the Annual Chamber Auction are cornerstone events that create fun and excitement for residents and visitors. Chamber members benefit from these events by the exposure to hundreds of potential customers who come from a large geographic area. Involvement in Local Activities In addition to the "Yesterdays" Harvest Street Festival and Annual Chamber Auction, the Chamber sponsors many local activities such as Merchants Open House Weekend, Halloween Party and Santa in the Santa House. Many Chamber members are actively involved in Salute to Cecil County Veterans Fireworks Celebration, Cecil County Christmas Parade, Christmas Tree Lighting, March of Dimes Walk America, Annual Flag Day Ceremony, North East Relay for Life and other local events. Monthly Lunch Meeting Hear quality speakers discuss topics you care about and which affect your business. Not to mention an opportunity to sample the best restaurants in the local area (and oh yes, did we mention networking?). Monthly Newsletter You will receive a monthly newsletter updating you on the previous months' meeting, important dates to remember and helpful information about running a business. Networking There are numerous opportunities to meet and network with your business peers in the local community. You simply do not have a better opportunity to be around as large a number of people who share the same interest as you. Rt. 40 and Rt. 272 Sign Board The sign board is located in a high traffic area seen by thousands of people each year. It is available for use by nonprofit organizations to announce upcoming events. A copy of the general rules for use is available by contacting the Chamber office. Voice in Local Issues The Chamber is active in local issues and shares a working relationship with the Town of North East. A town representative serves on the Chamber Board of Directors and updates on the Town are given at each Chamber meeting. Whenever a local issue affects the business community, the Town seeks the input of the Chamber. Chamber member representatives attend the twice-monthly meeting of the Town Board and are offered the opportunity to address the Board. You are invited to attend the meetings held at the Town Hall the second and forth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall Website As a member of the Chamber, you are included on the list of chamber members on the website. The website receives more than 8,000 hits a month and is an opportunity for you to get your company name out to potential customers.
