The Town of North East, in partnership with the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD), is pleased to announce the 2026 Commercial Facade Improvement Grant Program.
Funding is available for qualifying commercial properties and businesses located within the Town’s Sustainable Communities Area to improve the appearance and structural integrity of their commercial facades.
Eligible Improvements Include:
- Exterior painting
- Masonry repair
- Architectural improvements
- Windows and doors
- Awnings and signage
- Exterior lighting
- Other qualifying facade enhancements
Grant Highlights
- $50,000 in grant funding available
- Grants may cover up to 50% of eligible project costs
- Applications are due by July 10, 2026
- Applications must be submitted to North East Town Hall
- This is a reimbursement-based grant program funded through DHCD
Applicants are required to provide a minimum 15% match toward the total project cost. Applications with a higher financial contribution may be considered more competitive.
