The North East Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the recipients of the 2026 Nick Demond Memorial Scholarship, awarded to graduating seniors from North East High School who exemplify service, dedication, and commitment to their future goals.
The scholarship was established in memory of Ulysses Grant “Nick” Demond III in recognition of his lifelong service to both our country and our community. Through this scholarship, the Chamber seeks to honor Nick’s legacy by supporting students who demonstrate the same spirit of service and determination that he embodied throughout his life.
This year, the Chamber awarded two $500 scholarships to outstanding North East High School seniors:
Audrey Kennedy
Audrey plans to attend Cecil College this fall and enroll in the Healthcare Program. Through her studies, she will gain the knowledge and skills needed to pursue a career dedicated to serving others and making a positive impact in her community.
Christopher Stevens
Christopher is already demonstrating his commitment to higher education as a dual-enrollment student at Cecil College. He will attend Cecil College full-time this fall and pursue a degree in engineering.
The scholarships were presented during the North East High School Senior Awards Ceremony. Chamber representative JoAnn Dawson attended on behalf of the North East Chamber of Commerce and presented the awards recognizing both students’ achievements and future aspirations.
The North East Chamber of Commerce congratulates Audrey Kennedy and Christopher Stevens on this well-deserved honor and wishes them continued success in their educational and professional journeys.
Each recipient received a $500 scholarship through the Nick Demond Memorial Scholarship Fund.
