A Message from the North East Chamber of Commerce
As many of you know, Cecil Public Media (Cecil TV) is a valued member of our Chamber and a long-standing local resource dedicated to telling the stories of our community. For the past 10 years, their volunteers and supporters have produced over 1,000 interviews and community features focused on local people, organizations, and civic life.
Today, Cecil TV is reaching a critical decision point. They’re asking our community — including our business leaders — to consider whether Cecil County needs an independent local media voice and whether we as a county are prepared to support it.
Their full message below outlines their challenges, their mission, and the opportunities available to help — whether through viewership, participation, volunteering, or financial support. Through December 31st, donations up to $1,000 are doubled through a Newsmatch grant dedicated to supporting independent nonprofit news.

On behalf of the North East Chamber of Commerce, we encourage our members to consider what the presence of community-focused media means for civic engagement, local visibility, and a well-informed county. We thank Cecil Public Media for a decade of service and storytelling — and we thank you for taking time to consider their message.
